Iranian First Lady calls for role of Muslim women for promotion of Islamic culture

Dr. Jamileh Alamolhoda, Iranian First Lady, on Tuesday urged the Muslim women globally, especially, those who wear Hijab to play their role for promotion of Islamic culture across the globe. She shared her views as chief guest in a seminar on the “Role of Muslim Women in the Emerging Muslim Civilization”, organized at IBA City Karachi Campus here. The event was hosted by Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Karachi and Cultural Center of Iran in Karachi. On the occasion, launching of a book written by Iranian First Lady, ISI were accorded a warm welcome on their arrival in the Financial Hub of Pakistan. She said that like Pakistan, the women are also actively contributing to many fields in Iran, while Iranian Men are very supportive to them. Dr.Jamileh said that it is a responsibility of all women to highlight the significance and role the women which they can play in different sectors in the society. Speaking about her visit to Pakistan, Dr. Jamileh said that she is extremely happy to observe that the women in Pakistan also like to wear Hijab. She said that after the Iranian Revolution, the hijab was declared compulsory dress code for women in her country and it was welcomed in Islamic Republic. Dr. Jamileh said that their Government will welcome those people from brother country Pakistan who want to work jointly in different fields. We would move forward jointly in the field of education, technology and research, she added. Presenting vote of thanks, Dean Faculty of Islamic Studies, Prof. Dr. Zahid Ali Zahidi said that the content of the book penned down by Dr. Jamileh Alamolhoda, the Honorable First Lady of Iran, is helpful for the course of “Islam and Aurat” being taught in the Department of Islamic Learning in University of the Karachi. He said that the women in Pakistan are vibrantly contributing in every segment of the society. Later, the honorable guest was also presented shield by the organizers of the event. Among other notables, Member of the National Assembly and daughter of Late, Mohtrama Benazir, the First ever Female Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Islamic World, Asifa Bhutto Zardari was also graced the occasion.
